There’s really not much you can do for your printer when it gets this error, but try this anyway. Turn on the printer and lift the top lid when the print head moves to the centre just remover the power plug. Then take out all of the carts and print head and close the lid again, now power on the printer and lift the top lid then install only the print head and close the lid. Now this time lift the lid again and install all of the carts, and if you still have the B200 error after this then it’s time to think about buying a new printer, sorry. According to the service manual page 11/54 one cause for the error is bad electric contact between the contact springs in the print head carriage and the contact pads on the circuit board on the print head. So you could try removing the print head and clean the contact springs and pads, using a rag moistened with an electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.

But most likely the print head is defective and a new print head might help. But when a canon print head fails, there is a risk that it damages the logic board. A damaged logic board can damage a new print head, so replacing the print head is a gamble, and I cannot tell your chances for success. The print head parts number for the MP640 is QY6-0072 if you want to search for one.
The service manual is found here: Canon print heads can fail for no apparent reason, especially when old. I see no way a keyboard command to copy the screen image to the clipboard can damage the printer, whether the computer has finished its booting tasks or not. That the printer failed when you pressed the PrintScreen key must be a coincidence. You have done nothing wrong.
. 4041 Answers SOURCE: Hi there This answers with a titch more detail. The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code. As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move. Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.
And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And it’s always a paper path error or purge unit. The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow. So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well. Also clean the purge unit out make sure all is clean.

10515 Answers SOURCE: Hi, Hi This problem can happen because of following reasons: 1. There is some piece of paper / paper clip / sticker stuck inside printer and you are not able to access it. In this case you need to remove all ink cartridges, turn off printer, then turn it upside down and shake it few times.
If still not working then you need to open it up as much you can to see if something is stuck 2. The electric sensor which receives signal from the mechanical paper sensor to detect jam has issues. Either there is dust on it or its gone bad and needs replacement.
You should first open up the printer and blow air in it (using compressed air can) to remove all dust. If it doesn't work then this repair will cost you much more than buying a new Printer. If its in warranty certainly call Canon.
